I’ve discovered that stitching up a hull almost 24 feet long is a little more complicated than stitching up Slipper’s 14 foot hulls.

Scarfing
When I decided to try stitch and glue, I took the two sheets of 3/4″ MDF I’d plan to use to brace and gusset the strongback and made a nice waist high scarfing table. This is a huge improvement on laying the panels on the floor.
Starting the New Boat
My design for a trailerable ocean cruising cat has gone from 19 feet 8 inches to 23 feet 6 inches. The tall cabins that gave her a sort of hump-backed look are much diminished. I realized that I was trying to squeeze too much accommodation into a very small boat. Here’s what she looks like now:
